“你很专心，亲爱的，”她用忧伤的语气对哈利说，“我心中的眼睛穿透了你勇敢的面孔，看到了你内心的烦恼。很遗憾，我必须告诉你：你的忧虑不是毫无根据的。我看见你前面的艰难岁月了，哎呀…非常的艰难…恐怕你一直害怕的事情会真的到来…，还有可能来得比你预料中早。”
赫敏是对的。哈利生气地想。特里劳妮教授的确是个老骗人精。他现在压根没有在害怕什么…
“亲爱的，你显然是出生在上星罪恶的影响之下的，”教授说。当她看到哈利明显地没在认真听她的讲话时，她的语气里带了一丝愤怒。
“对不起，在什么之下出生？”
“土星，宝贝，土星！”特里劳妮说，因为看到哈利的恩绪居然没被这个消息吸引过来而被激怒了，“我是说你出生的时候，土星在天堂里肯定处于当权的地位…你漆黑的头发…矮小的身材…年纪轻轻就命途多舛…我想我猜的没错的话，你是出生于仲冬？”
“错了，”哈利说：“我是七月份出生的。”
原文读起来更带感：
Divination was his least favorite subject. Professor Trelawney kept predicting Harry's death, which he found extremely annoying...A very thin woman with enormous glasses that made her eyes appear far too large for her face, Professor Trelawney was peering down at Harry with the tragic expression she always wore whenever she saw him. The usual large amount of beads, chains, and bangles glittered upon her person in the firelight...
"You are preoccupied, my dear," she said mournfully to Harry. "My inner eye sees past your brave face to the troubled soul within. And I regret to say that your worries are not baseless. I see difficult times ahead for you, alas...most difficult...I fear the thing you dread will indeed come to pass...and perhaps sooner than you think..."
But Hermione was right, Harry thought irritably, Professor Trelawney really was an old fraud. He wasn't dreading anything at the moment at all...
"[My dear], you were clearly born under the baleful influence of Saturn," said Professor Trelawney, a faint note of resentment in her voice at the fact that he had obviously not been hanging on her words.
"Born under - what, sorry?" said Harry.
"Saturn, dear, the planet Saturn!" said Professor Trelawney, sounding definitely irritated that he wasn't riveted by this news. "I was saying that Saturn was surely in a position of power in the heavens at the moment of your birth...Your dark hair...your mean stature...tragic losses so young in life...I think I am right in saying, my dear, that you were born in mid-winter?"
"No," said Harry, "I was born in July."
特里劳妮总在预言哈利的死期，一直强调死亡的阴影环绕着“哈利”（的确），死亡离“哈利”越来越近（可理解为死去的人和他的关系越来越近），以及“哈利”害怕的事情终将到来（可理解为伏地魔的复活终将到来）。我第一次读《火焰杯》的时候真的以为她一直在说哈利，因为每一条都对得上除了生日。直到重读时才发现...
黑头发。小个子。年纪轻轻就命途多舛。生于仲冬。出生时土星悬空。土星是占星学里代表了邪恶的行星。它是靠恐惧运行的。
死亡越来越近。害怕的事情终将到来。
被恐惧控制着。
无法逃避命运。
我的梅林。
魂片君，是你吗？

以特里劳妮的vision看，这是真真正正的vision。这何止是预言，这天眼简直刺透你的灵魂！那么问题来了，大家都是seer，格林德沃你看着我的眼睛，你告诉我你是怎么在克雷登斯就站在你面前的情况下还看不出他是你要找的人啊。特里劳妮能穿透哈利的灵魂看到汤姆里德尔的魂片，你怎么搂着克雷登斯摇了半天还看不出来他是你要找的默默然啊。你到底是不是seer？你这个因为脸长得好看就满嘴跑火车四处拐孩子的德国佬...
